A Model UN Conference for Mid-South highschoolers
The conference will be run by the Model United Nations class and the club here at Rhodes College! We are students of many majors and class years. We are so excited to host you at our school!
The conference will be held on March 25 and March 26, 2023. Opening ceremony will begin at 12:30 pm on March 25, 2023.
We have seven committees that we are offering: Fictional, UNHCR, Historical, ECOFIN, CND, & UNEP.

I am a senior from St. Louis, Missouri who is majoring in Political Science and International Studies. I have taken the Model UN class here at Rhodes many times. I am the Coordinator for the Model United Nations class here at Rhodes, and I am also the President of the Model United Nations club here as well.”
"My name is Julia Seeds and I am the current Undersecretary General for the Rhodes Model United Nations organization. I am a senior at Rhodes College majoring in International Studies and minoring in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. I have been a part of the Model UN community for 7 years, beginning when I joined Austin High School’s MUN team in 2015 where I served as the Under-Secretary of Logistics my junior year and the Secretary General my senior year. As Secretary General of Austin High’s MUN team, I founded my school’s very first Model UN conference which is now held annually. In Model UN and international studies, I specialize in issues pertaining to conflict in the Middle East and North Africa, migration in and from the region and US foreign policy in the War on Terror. My experience in Model UN has played a major role in my decision to pursue a career in international affairs. I am excited to utilize my passion and experience in Model UN to help lead a successful MSMUN 2023!"

"Welcome to MSMUN! I am Andy Chai and I am incredibly excited to one of your chairs for the Fictional Crisis Committee. Our topic for this year will be Lord of the Flies.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend a weekend getting to know you all. I look forward to listening to everyone’s creative ideas and directives merge in committee. I hope to provide you all an excellent opportunity to practice diplomacy and converse amongst your peers.
At Rhodes College, I am a Sophomore double majoring in Biochemistry and Chinese Studies. I am currently the Vice President of All Students Interested in ASIA, a multicultural organization that aims to increase appreciation for Asian culture on campus and foster a sense of cultural identity. Alongside ASIA, I am also the Vice President of the Table Tennis Club and the Treasurer of VOICES, an umbrella organization that merges the variety of student-run cultural organizations to promote intercultural dialogue. I currently serve as the Registration Coordinator for Rhodes Model UN.

"I’m Audrey Bishop and I will be one of the chairs for the UNCHR! I am from Houston, TX and am a sophomore at Rhodes College. My intended major is political science with a minor in Jewish, Islamic, and Middle Eastern studies. I started Model UN during my sophomore year in high school. One of my favorite conferences to attend was the Saudi Arabian Cabinet for CIMUN as I am a personal fan of crisis committees. Apart from MUN, I am also involved with the cheer team and Greek life. I am so excited for the opportunity to get to be in a conference, not as a delegate, but as a chair for the first time."

She has done Model UN all throughout high school and chaired several conferences during her junior and senior year. Aside from Model UN, she participates in the Rhodes Mocktrial team and is a part of the Chi Omega Sorority on campus."

"I am Ryan McTigue, a Sophomore at Rhodes. I am a prospective PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) major. I have lived in Collierville, Tennessee for most of my life, which is about forty-five minutes outside of Memphis. Having participated in this model UN conference in high school as an Ecofin committee member, I decided to participate further in the program as a college student and am CO-chairing the committee on climate change. I look forward to a productive and lively conference discussing one of the world's most pressing topics!"
